Mark Hughes has stated that he is not overly concerned by his side's recent defeat against Porto.
Stoke's pre-season ended on a sour note with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Portuguese giants at the RheinEnergieStadion on Sunday.
Despite the heavy defeat though, Potter boss Hughes is not panicking and has insisted that the test against a quality opponent was more important than the result.
"They are a first class side with a lot of experience and great ability," he said to Stoke City Player. "It was a good test and it was always going to be a hard contest, but we couldn't quite select a side that could level their qualities.
"They had good movement and a lot of playing patterns that they obviously work on, that included plenty of power and pace to move us around. Sadly we couldn't get on the front foot and put little bit of pressure on them, which really allowed them too much time and space.
"It's a game that we have taken and are pleased about because they are a quality opposition that has really tested us and that's what we needed."
