Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes wants to tie Benni McCarthy to a new contract which will see the striker play out his career at Ewood Park.
The £2.5million signing from Porto has two years of his current deal remaining.
Hughes said: "I feel he wants to stay. He's under contract but we want to make Blackburn Benni's club.
"It could be the last big contract of his career. But we'd love for him to stay here for a long time.
"Technically, he's as good as there is."
