Stoke City boss Mark Hughes says there's plenty of work being done in the January market.
But he won't nominate any potential targets for the Potters.
"We've done some work on a number of players we think we can progress," he stated, "but as always if you flag that up it can highlight those players to other people and it's a dog eat dog situation in January.
"You can sometimes find you lose players by people knowing about them.
"We try to play our cards close to our chest. If you throw petrol on the flames you sometimes get burnt."
