Blackburn bounced back from the embarrassment of being bundled out of the FA Cup last week by Coventry with a 2-1 win at the Reebok Stadium against Bolton.

Rovers have now gained 15 points from losing positions this season as again they had to come from behind.

In a scrappy game Kevin Nolan gave Bolton the lead just before the break with a spectacular effort only for Christopher Samba to deservedly equalise early in the second half.

The visitors then clinched the points through substitute Jason Roberts in the 90th minute to continue Rovers impressive record at the Reebok were they have not lost in seven visits.

The game was overshadowed however by mounting speculation linking the Rovers boss Mark Hughes with the vacant Newcastle manager's job.

The former Wales boss would appear to be in pole position after Harry Redknapp rejected the chance of succeeding Sam Allardyce.

However, after the game Hughes appeared to distance himself from a new job saying, "I have support from the chairman (John Williams) and the board. That is something you do not give up lightly.

"The fact is I have continuity here and a good situation. Things are in place and I am very conscious of that.

"All I am trying to do is my job to the best of my ability with the help of my staff.

"I am not into self-promotion but speculation has surrounded me in the past.

"But I am still Blackburn manager and have a job to do here.

"In football you need time and I have been given that. I am proud to be manager of this club."
