Hughes happy with new Falkirk deal

John Hughes has agreed a new two-year contract extension with Falkirk.

The Bairns boss will now be with the club until 2010 and he told the club's website: "Realistically, I feel I'm only halfway through the job, but it's a pleasure to work with the young team I have built up, considering the difference in average age since I came here.

"Falkirk FC is a club on the up and I can't see that changing. I'm working with a great board of directors and a fantastic backroom staff in a tremendous training environment.

"However, none of those factors guarantees success and it is vitally important that everybody at the club continues to drive on.

"I have an affinity with this club and all the new contract does is to provide further stability.

"If I was here for the next ten years, I would be extremely happy given that we continue to grow and progress."
