Aaron Hughes feels the balance of the Fulham team has them in a good position for a successful season.
The Cottagers won their opening Premier League match 5-0 at home against Norwich City last weekend before really testing Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, eventually losing 3-2 after leading early.
Despite the loss, defender Hughes is confident that things can continue to improve at Craven Cottage for what could be a decent campaign under Martin Jol.
"We did really well against Norwich and there's a lot we can take from the Man Utd game too," he told the club's official website.
"It's been a good start, but there's a long way to go yet.
"We're solid at the back, have players with a lot of creativity in midfield and up front we can score goals - it's a nice balance.
"With that in mind, looking ahead, we could have a good season."
