Manchester City boss Mark Hughes says he is delighted that Robinho is at the club and added that he has become an easy target for outsiders to criticise.
The Brazilian has been in mixed form this season but still managed to score on 15 occasions in his debut Premier League season, prompting to Hughes to label him as 'outstanding'.
"Robinho is an easy target. He is a high-profile player with a large price tag that people will highlight," Hughes said.
"He has been disappointing on occasion this season, he will admit that himself. But he is not the only one in that position.
"He is an outstanding talent and we are delighted he is here and, if we can bring in more players of a similar standard, that will enable us to grow as a club."
