Aberdeen midfielder Stephen Hughes is confident that the club will not bow out of the Scottish Cup to inferior opposition tonight.
The Dons are away to first division Queen of the South in the fifth round replay after drawing 1-1 at Pittodrie Stadium earlier this month and Hughes - a former Rangers player - believes the mindset of the squad is ensure progression to the quarter-finals after falling to lower clubs in recent years.
"That is all in the past as there are a lot of new players here and all we have to do is look forward now, not back to what has happened before.
"I have been involved in a few of these ties down the years but mostly at Rangers when we went to Brechin and places like that.
"Nothing untoward ever happened because we went there with the right attitude knowing it would be like a cup final for them.
"It's about attitude as well as ability in this game but the boys have been right up for every game since I came here and I don't see that changing.
"It's a good chance for us to progress and while it will be difficult we have the players to win the tie.
"We're on a good run of results and if we are on the top of our game we'll be too much for them.""I have heard about the club's record in the last few years but I have been down in England so that doesn't have any bearing on things for me," he said.
