Hughes: Blackburn will attack for remainder of season

After their draw with Tottenham, Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes says they intend to play a more attacking style of game for the remainder of the season.

Rovers can now afford to drop few points and in explaining Saturday's half-time decision to replace defender Andre Ooijer with the more attack-minded Brett Emerton, Hughes made his approach clear.

"I felt we needed to be a little more dynamic," he said. "We need to win games at this stage of the season, that is why we try to be positive.

"We will try to be positive in the last four or five games where we feel we can be.

"It wasn't to be against a good Spurs side who are probably better than their league position shows, but I thought we were more than a match for them.

"Spurs had the better of the opening part of the game but I felt we acquitted ourselves more than well.

"We are still above a Spurs team that has been invested very heavily in, still above them in the Premier League. That's a feather in our cap I suppose."
