Mark Hughes is expected to be named new Stoke City manager this week.
The Daily Mail says the 49-year-old former QPR manager's appointment could be rubber-stamped by the end of the week.
Hughes has been championed by Stoke's technical director Mark Cartwright, who would work closely with him to give a direction for the club on the field.
Former manager Tony Pulis was criticised for sending out sides with a direct style of play and the club believe Hughes is the man to implement a more attractive passing game.
