Stoke City manager Mark Hughes believes Jose Mourinho 'has the knowledge and understanding' to turn Chelsea's season around.
The Potters face the Blues in the fourth round of the League Cup on Tuesday, with anything less than a victory for Chelsea likely to heap more pressure on the under fire Mourinho.
However, Hughes was quick to come out in support of his managerial counterpart, saying he still felt the Portuguese manager was the right man for the job at Stamford Bridge.
"It's a period he has the knowledge and understanding to address, and he'll turn it around," Hughes said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
"I don't think anyone thinks that he won't.
"I don't anticipate they'll be in the position they are for too much longer.
"Chelsea have quality right throughout the club that will enable them to come through this moment I'm sure.
"He says it himself - he's a top manager and he's the best manager Chelsea have ever had, so why would they change?"
