Mark Hughes admits Manchester City need to toughen up.
He said: "You have to understand the type of players we've got, attack-minded players, technically gifted players. On occasion, teams are bigger and stronger but you mustn't get sucked into playing the game the opposition wants to play.
"It's no good playing a physical game if you haven't got physical players. Trying to play a pressing game is not going to work. I play a system I think will suit the players I've got. But what we have to get is variation in our play and what we can do, and that will come when we change the squad around. It's a balance. You need the ability to be strong, to withstand challenges and break off tackles. At times, you have to stand up and be counted."
