Huddersfield tightlipped on Fulham, Blackburn offers for Rhodes

Huddersfield Town are tightlipped on interest in striker Jordan Rhodes.

Fulham and Blackburn Rovers have reportedly lodged bids for the Scotland international.

Terriers chief executive Nigel Clibbens is keeping quiet on the latest reports.

"During the course of the summer, as we knew would happen, there has been lots of speculation in the press and media about Jordan Rhodes leaving Huddersfield Town," Clibbens told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

"At various times, it has been reported that we have agreed terms for a sale; that bids have been received and turned down from more than one Premier League club and, over the weekend, even a rival Championship club.

"It could be distracting if we took notice of all the stories. Throughout this speculation, we have made the decision not to comment, as this would only add fuel to the fire.

"When any club enquires about a player we always adopt a professional and confidential approach and mention nothing publicly - it's the right thing to do.

"We are now seven days from the start of our competitive season and we are all looking forward to taking on Preston North End in the Capital One Cup before facing Cardiff in our first Championship fixture for a decade.

"As far as we're concerned, with just seven days to kick-off, it's business as usual at Huddersfield Town."
