Huddersfield striker Depoitre delighted to score against Chelsea

Huddersfield Town had a disappointing result against Chelsea, with the team failing to get the three points they wanted. However, not all their players were so unhappy after the game.

Despite the defeat, striker Laurent Depoitre was happy with some parts of his performance. He scored the side's only goal, and hopes that it can reignite his season.

"We knew it wouldn't be an easy game when you play a team against the top six. We played with a good block defensively, they have good qualities, but they didn't create too many chances, but they were clinical," he said.

"Personally, I'm very happy I could score a goal in the 20 minutes I played, it will help my confidence. Unfortunately, it's a goal for nothing but I'm happy.

Depoitre has not had the best of seasons with Huddersfield so far. He has ten starts in the Premier League, along with four substitute appearances, but only three goals.

"As a striker you know that when you come onto the pitch you have to try and make an impact on the game. It's not easy when we are losing but I try to do my best," he stated.

Depoitre is hoping the goal means he will start the team's next few games, as the club attempts to steeritself to a top half position in the Premier League.
