Newcastle winger Matt Ritchie thinks that playing against a confident Huddersfield side could work in the favour of the Magpies.

The Terriers demolished Crystal Palace 3-0 while the Magpies suffered a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on the opening weekend of the season.

"Huddersfield will be on a high but that can work both ways," said Ritchie. "They could be very confident and underestimate us.

"I'm sure they won't because their manager's very good and they're a hungry group of lads.

"But although it was a disappointing result against Spurs, there's a lot of positivity within our squad."
