Liverpool's highly-rated young defender Mike Kelly has joined Huddersfield on-loan until the end of the season.

The Reds number 34, who made his first team debut in the Champions League tie in Eindhoven, has the opportunity to gain some league experience with Lee Clark's team.

Kelly impressed for England U19 in their 0-0 draw with the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Head Coach Brian Eastick said: "Martin played very well, so we certainly have food for thought in selecting a squad which we think can qualify for the Euro Finals."
