The German has landed the first SkyBet Championship manager's award for season 2016/17 after guiding the Terriers to top of the table after five matches.
Wagner oversaw four wins and a draw for Huddersfield to be crowned the top manager in England's second division for the opening month of the campaign.
"Everyone here has worked unbelievably hard during pre-season and during August and they have earned the results that the team enjoyed," he said.
"We are workers, not dreamers, so nobody here is getting carried away."
The West Yorkshire club next take on 21st-placed Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.
