Huddersfield boss Grayson: Leeds sacking did hurt

New Huddersfield boss Simon Grayson admits his sacking by Leeds United "hurt".

Grayson was sacked by Leeds after three successful years in which he won promotion from League One and narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs last season.

And he revealed: "Of course I was hurt. When any manager loses their job, they're going to be very disappointed.

"I could have understood it a bit more if we were in the bottom three but that decision was made.

"There has been certain things that have come out over the last few weeks that have been quite hurtful and not very accurate either.

"But that's part of history now and I've left there with my dignity intact and the club in a good position.

"I have to move on and I'm just thinking about the future."
