Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark has played down the progress of returning to Newcastle United.

Clark, who is from Wallsend, made over 200 appearances for the St James' Park outfit as a player.

"I was part of that fantastic side as a player at Newcastle, and as a local lad being a part of that was a dream come true," Clark told talkSPORT.

"But I've been given a fantastic opportunity by the owner here at Huddersfield Town and I'm determined to deliver for him.

"I don't look too far ahead in this game because, if you start doing that then things start falling down around you and you end up with egg on your face.

"I'm just focused on doing a job for Huddersfield and giving the fans, the board and the owner something to be proud of."
