Howard: Terry determined to lift Chelsea

Barnsley captain Brian Howard has revealed how a post-game chat with Chelsea pair John Terry and Wayne Bridge left him convinced they will bounce back from their FA Cup humiliation.

"The way they were talking, JT especially, convinced me that they are not just going to lie down and die after this," said Howard.

"The pair [Terry and Bridge] and of them were smashing to me. I got a shirt from each of them and Wayne also added 'Good luck in the next round' on his, and it was heartwarming in the way they and so many of the rest of the Chelsea side took the defeat like men.

"But what also struck me was the look in Terry's eyes as he spoke to me about the future - there was something in there that convinced me he wasn't just saying that he wanted to lift his team back up again. He meant every word.

"JT knows there is going to be a lot of stuff said and written about Chelsea after losing to us. But he is prepared to accept it and move on. He still believes in Chelsea and he still believes he can lead the club to success this season."
