Everton boss Roberto Martinez feels Tim Howard's performance in goal on Thursday night was equal to a clean sheet.
The Toffees completed a successful return to European football by defeating German club VfL Wolfsburg 4-1 at Goodison Park with the visitors' only goal coming from a free-kick four minutes into injury-time.
Earlier, USA international Howard had been superb with a number of quality saves for his side and his outing in the Group H opener was certainly not lost on a very grateful Martinez.
"I thought he was magnificent. His concentration, the way he controlled his 18-yard box. You would expect once we scored the second and third goals that Wolfsburg would throw everything at us," said the Toffees boss.
"It's just a real shame that the last kick of the game ends up in the back of the net. In my eyes Tim's performance is like a clean sheet and that's the way I'm going to keep it."
