Howard insists Everton strong enough to sustain top four tilt

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard says they can sustain a top four challenge.

A commanding 2-0 Goodison win over Norwich on Saturday saw Roberto Martinez 's men move back into the Champions League qualifying spots for 24 hours.

Howard told the Liverpool Echo: "I think those positions will just keep flip flopping and we need to hang in there. It's going to go week by week, but that is great because it keeps the pressure on us to play well and get results.

"There is something like 17 weeks left, and I think it's going to continue week by week. Spurs have come out of nowhere since their change of manager and they're right on our tail. Liverpool can leap frog us.

"Hopefully we can carry that on in 2014 and put a really strong season together. I don't see any signs to suggest we wont."
