Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has described Tim Cahill as their Toffees heart.

A boost for the Blues was the timely return of midfielder Cahill in defeat at Manchester United.

The Australian had not featured since February's 2-0 home win over Sunderland due to a foot injury and Howard was delighted to see the 31-year-old back in the first-team reckoning.

"Tim is a guy who makes us go," he told evertonfc.com. "He's our engine and our heart, he takes the fight to teams and we're a confident, better side when he's in the team, there's no question about it."
