Houston Dynamo have signed a deal with Direct Energy to become an official partner of the team and its new BBVA Compass Stadium, reports SportsPro. As well as becoming the official energy provider of the team and its new stadium, which will host its first game on 12th May, Direct Energy will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the Dynamo's home game on 6th September against Real Salt Lake.
According to a report in the Houston Business Journal, retail electricity provider Direct Energy is in the process of relocating its headquarters from Toronto to Houston. The company already has a total of 2,000 employees across Texas.
No financial details of the deal were available although it is being described as 'long-term'.
