Houston Dynamo's Geoff Cameron says he is eagerly anticipating the USA national team camp to begin.
The 24-year old was called up to take part in Bob Bradley's 30-man camp beginning on January 4 at the Home Depot Center and is itching to show his wares to the national team coach after being unable to attend last year due to a hamstring injury.
"I'm really excited," Cameron told Soccer365. "It's pretty cool getting called up again, and I know it's only the first part. I made it there - now, I have to prove myself to the coaching staff and just work my butt off.
"I'm feeling good right now. I've been working a lot, and hopefully I'll go in there and have a good camp."
Cameron said he was chomping at the bit to try and prove his worth to Bradley and give himself every chance of being selected for the USA's World Cup squad but admitted he was focused on first making the team for the upcoming friendly against Honduras.
"The World Cup is up ahead, and it's every kid's dream to play in a World Cup," he said. "Obviously, it's the first thing I want to do.
"I just have to work hard and do well and get on the game roster and try to get into the starting eleven aganst Honduras - it's all little steps to the ultimate goal."
