Houston Dynamo escaped a Hurricane hit hometown to face San Francisco FC in Panama City for CONCACAF Champions League group play. In an extremely feisty match and faced with a daunting fixture congestion over the next few weeks Houston waited till late to introduce star strikers Brian Ching and Dwayne De Rosario.

De Rosario's strength was telling for the last 15 minutes as Houston looked to push forward for the winner, that unfortunately was not to materialize for the back to back MLS Cup champions.

A point on the road from the nil-all draw in these group stages will still be seen as a small victory by the fans and the team, especially considering the tropical storm conditions. Next stop Toronto FC in three days.
