Houston Dynamo midfielder Ricardo Clark was delighted to have score the winner in USA's 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Trinidad & Tobago on Wednesday.
Clark netted in the 62nd minute with a 25-yard scorcher after a nice piece of play from Landon Donovan and was happy to have managed such a nice goal for his nation, especially in front of family.
"It feels good. They were at the game watching me play," Clark said.
"It was something special to have a good showing in front of somebody who has been a part of your life for so long. I have family here and my dad was born here. It was a special game for me and I thank God I was able to take advantage of the opportunity."
Clark added that it was such an important win for the US and also commented on the influence Donovan had on the game and 'that' goal.
"It's huge. It's huge. It gives a little bit of space when things are getting tight in our group," Clark added.
"We knew we had to come out in this game and get a win.
"Throughout the whole game Landon was able to get down the line and that cutback was on.
"I love being at the top of the box waiting for that shot, it's a big part of my game. I just tried to let it rip, hit it on frame and it went in."
