Houston Dynamo president Chris Canetti has revealed that Geoff Cameron has agreed terms with Stoke City.
The 27-year old defender has been linked with a summer move to the Premier League club for weeks now but an agreement on a fee between the Potters and MLS officials has not yet been made.
But Cameron and Stoke have now agreed terms, making a deal appear closer, although he does need to obtain a work permit after his initial application was denied.
"It's our understanding through our communication with Stoke is that they've agreed to personal terms," Canetti told MLSsoccer.com.
"The next step in the process is him applying for his work permit."
His agent John Davies added: "We are very confident and have a package put together and thing this will be done pretty good," Davies said.
"It's not really my side to talk about but we are very, very confident."
