Houston Dynamo have signed Chivas USA defensive midfielder Kevin Harmse.

To acquire the three-year MLS veteran and Canadian national team player, the Dynamo gave Chivas USA their fourth-round pick in the 2012 draft.

"He's coming off an injury and looks to be healthy, from all our research," Dynamo chief operating officer Chris Canetti told the Houston Chronicle. "Part of our objective this year is to add depth in the midfield. This is a trade that takes us in that direction.

"He's a defensive midfielder who can also play a little bit in the back. He's Canadian. He plays with the Canadian national team."
