Houston Dynamo grant Ralston permission to hold New England talks

Houston Dynamo have allowed assistant coach Steve Ralston to hold talks with New England Revolution regarding their vacant coaching job.

The former Revs midfielder has been Dom Kinnear's right-hand man at the Dynamo for the past season-and-a-half but is attracting interest from his old club who mutually parted ways with Steve Nicol at the end of the 2011 MLS regular season.

"The Revolution requested permission, and we granted it," said Dynamo president Chris Canetti.

Houston are currently in the play-offs where they meet Philadelphia Union in the Conference semi-final second leg at Robertson Stadium on Thursday following their 2-1 first leg at PPL Park so Ralston's discussions with the Revs will not interfere with his current obligations.
