Houston Dynamo checking on Barbadian talent pool

Houston Dynamo are currently in the Caribbean nation of Barbados holding a week-long training camp for potential signings.

The Texan outfit are running the rule over players aged five up to twenty-two who will be able to register for a spot in the island's first-ever MLS camp which is being held at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus' Paradise Park in Lazaretto.

Dynamo's youth academy coaches will oversee the camp which is being run in conjunction with the Barbados Soccer Academy and Youth Co-ordinator of the MLS club, Michael Fasching, told media that it was a great opportunity for young Barbadians.

"We try to create a situation where they have the opportunity to work with our academy and eventually sign a professional contract with Houston Dynamo," he said.

"That is our ultimate goal. We also provide all our players with the opportunity - if not a professional contract - to study at a university in the United States."
