Houston Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear is happy with his team's 1-0 mid-week home win against Chivas USA. Speaking at the post match press conference Kinnear said, "We played a lot of long balls in the first half, and that really was the only one where the ball and the player met each other.
"It was a hard game tonight, but that was the one play in the first half we connected on, and luckily for us it led to a goal."
Houston goalkeeper Pat Onstad wanted to point out that his team's confidence is high and Chivas USA were a tough team to face.
"I think the confidence right now is really flowing through the locker room," said Onstad.
"We are finding ways to win difficult matches and tonight was a very difficult match against a very competitive team.
"Chivas is probably the best team we have played against. We knew it was going to be a tough game tonight and I think we matched them pretty well. If we can continue to play that well defensively, we are going to have a successful season."
