New Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier is looking forward to working with the English talent at Villa Park.

Houllier didn't think English players had fallen behind the rest of Europe in terms of ability.

He said: "You have to be careful saying that because the thing is English players do things at high speed.

"You need to be able to accept that - you can't say English football has gone back."
