Former Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier feels more youngsters will break into the first team next season.
Houllier is a big fan of England youth midfielder Gary Gardner.
He told the Birmingham Mail: "I think some young players like Gary Gardner, the brother of the one at Birmingham, will probably show his face a bit more.
"There's Fabian Delph who has not been very happy since he's been at the club because of injuries. There's quite a lot of young players around.
"The young will be one year older and more experienced.
"Usually some of the players will blossom, that's what happens.
"The first year you play between 10 and 25 games and then the following year you can play nearly 40 games. I think some of them will be great assets for the club."
