Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier faces shopping in the loan market next month.
Houllier has admitted that Aston Villa are in the market for loan deals in the New Year as financial reality hits home at Villa Park.
The club's boss met with owner Randy Lerner at Bodymoor Heath on Wednesday to formalise Villa's spending plan.
Explaining his position when the window opens, Houllier said: "I am open to anything.
"However, generally it is not a good time to improve your squad."
