Honefoss' Clark named Norway's top goalkeeper

Honefoss gloveman Steve Clark has been named the Norwegian Tippeligaen's Goalkeeper of the Year.

The league's official broadcast partner, TV2, voted the 26-year old American as the best keeper in the business despite Honefoss finishing 13th on the table.

Clark managed 11 clean sheets in 30 outings as his side avoided relegation by one point and he was delighted to be recognised for his contribution to the club he joined from Charleston Battery in 2010.

"It really started last year, in December, with all the hard work," Clark told MLSsoccer.com. "It's a nice reward.

"Any time you can pick up an award playing for a smaller club, it's something to take note of. And of course, a lot of the success comes from the relationship I have with the center backs. We almost know what the others are going to do when the ball comes in because we've played a lot of matches together now."
