HomeStreet Bank strengthens Seattle link

Seattle-based financial services firm HomeStreet Bank has agreed a deal in principle to become the official banking partner of National Football League (NFL) franchise the Seattle Seahawks and Major League Soccer (MLS) side Seattle Sounders FC, reports SportsPro. The deal, which is subject to the finalisation of a definitive agreement, will see HomeStreet receive extensive exposure at CenturyLink Field - the home of both teams - as well as team television and radio programming, web-based and in-stadium digital media, database marketing and hospitality benefits.

The firm will also fulfil many of the teams' commercial banking needs and develop community outreach programmes. Financial terms of the deal have not been released.

"We have been surprised and delighted by how much HomeStreet has in common with the Seahawks and Sounders FC," said Mark K. Mason, president and chief executive of HomeStreet Bank.

"Our local roots, commitment to community involvement and leadership, and desire to provide value to businesses and consumers in the Puget Sound region have put us on the same page from the very start. We're thrilled to sit at the same table and work hand-in-hand with them over the coming years."

"HomeStreet Bank's impressive growth strategy, focus on community, and regional heritage makes us perfect partners," added Seahawks and Sounders FC president Peter McLoughlin.
