Holt wants Norwich future

Grant Holt insists he wants to stay at Norwich City after seeing off the threat of Kei Kamara.

The Sierra Leone striker's loan spell in Norfolk ended last week when the Canaries declined the possibility of signing him permanently.

He is now back at Kansas City in the MLS, leaving Holt once again leading the line. But Norwich have already paid £8million for Sporting Lisbon star Ricky van Wolfswinkel for next season.

And Holt told The Sun: "Kei came in as the manager wanted to try something different but that is football. Wayne Rooney has sat on the bench this season so you cannot take it personally.

"You bite your lip and try your best. Forwards are judged on goals, I know that. In my opinion, I think I have done OK.

"A lot of people have said we need more forwards, that Norwich do not have enough firepower. But I will keep trying my best.

"The club are being sensible with wages. This club is progressing.

"All I can do is end the season well, and come back fit for pre-season."
