Brett Holman has turned down a new contract offer from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar it has been confirmed.
The Eredivisie league leaders offered new deals to Australian international Holman and Danish defender Simon Poulsen but both players rejected the chance to extend their time at the AFAS Stadion.
But it appears as though the duo will be with AZ past January with sporting director Earnest Stewart stating that a transfer which would suit the club in the winter transfer market is unlikely.
"We will not forget about our sporting interests," said Stewart in Voetbal International.
"Moreover, I doubt that next month there will be an offer on the table that we will find reasonable."
Holman has previously stated that he would consider a move away from AZ in the New Year as interest from clubs in the Premier League and German Bundesliga continues.
