Brett Holman received much-deserved adulation from Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert following his performance on the weekend.
The Australian Player of the Year opened his Villa scoring account when he found the back of the net in the eighth minute of the Birmingham club's 1-1 draw with QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday and the showing was not lost on his boss.
"I thought it was a fabulous strike. He's only been here a short time," said Lambert.
"It's a different environment for him and he's still adapting. His energy levels are extremely high. He's been excellent so far."
Holman joined Villa from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar on a free transfer in the summer and has since made 15 Premier League appearances - 10 of which have been starts - and one substitute appearance in the Capital One Cup.
