Holman helps fire AZ Alkmaar to strong victory

Brett Holman was on the scoresheet as AZ Alkmaar cruised past Willem II Tilburg 3-0 in the Dutch Eredivisie. An 11th minute penalty converted by Brazilian forward Jonathas kicked off proceedings for the home side and their lead was doubled just after the half-hour mark when Maarten Martens got on the end of a Holman cross and headed home.

Then it was the Australian international's turn to hit the back of the net with a 20-yard drive to essentially secure the points for Alkmaar in front 16,248 fans at the Almaarderhout.

Holman had a couple of chances to add to his tally late in the match but was unable to remain on target and had to settle for one.

AZ moved up to sixth on the Eredivisie table as Holman grabbed his first league goal of the season.
