Brett Holman is fast becoming a fans' favourite at Aston Villa.
The former AZ Alkmaar player's dynamic display for victory over Swansea City earned him the man-of-the-match award.
"The reception I received was great," he admitted.
"When the fans clap and you play for the fans it gives you a rush and goose bumps. You're there for the fans. You want to do your best and produce your best and hopefully I can do that every week.
"After the first defeat at home we needed to get them on our side. That's the most important thing - it's vital.
"You want to turn it around and we did that. The fans got right behind us and that gave us energy too.
"I was away for ten days with Australia. I was a little bit jet-lagged and a little bit tired, but the reception we got before, during and after the game, gets you going again.
''It gives you that extra step. I certainly felt it."
