Holman eyeing more first team action at AZ Alkmaar

Brett Holman is confident of gaining more first team football with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.

The midfielder was used sparingly last season by former manager Louis van Gaal but with a changing of the guard at AZ, Holman believes his fortunes will change under Ronald Koeman.

"I've spoken to the new boss about my situation and it's looking more positive for me," the Australian international said.

"I need to get more game time. I've already played a lot in our warm up games for the new season and I think I can look forward to a lot more opportunities than last season.

"I didn't get much of a look-in with Van Gaal and not a lot of contact with him. Ronald Koeman is more my type. He speaks to me more which helps because when you're not communicating it doesn't do you any good."
