New MLS franchise Seattle Sounders FC officially got down to business with the first day of training yesterday. Co-owner Hollywood film mogul Joe Roth was at training and was especially happy with the look of the team.
"It doesn't look like an expansion team," Roth told the Associated Press Wednesday.
Seattle Sounders FC are training on NFL's Seahawks practice field and have a special business relationship with the Seahawks.
"Once a week, I wake up and say to myself, 'What would I have done without the Seahawks?' There's no way we would be where we are right now without them." Roth explained.
With 18,600 season tickets already sold and a solid squad, league winning manager and a sound plan - don't be surprised to see Seattle buck the trend of recent expansion teams and easily make the play-offs in 2009.
