Holloway says Tottenham's AVB can draw inspiration from Chelsea boss Di Matteo

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway says new Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas can draw inspiration from Roberto di Matteo's success at Chelsea.

Ollie wrote in the Sunday Mirror: "If Andre Villas-Boas needs some inspiration as he starts work at Tottenham he need only look at the bloke who took his last job.

"Because if anybody proved last season that you shouldn't pigeon-hole a manager as a failure just because of one thing that goes wrong it was Roberto Di Matteo.

"A year before he found himself promoted to take charge at Stamford Bridge he'd been sacked by West Brom... and if you listened to a lot of people it meant he was out of his depth as a manager in the Premier League.

"Well blow me, the first time he had a chance to prove that wrong he won the FA Cup and the Champions League as well and is now, quite rightly, installed permanently as Chelsea manager.

"I'm sure there were a lot of people surprised at what has happened at Spurs this summer, and I must admit I'd be one of them."
