Holloway: Palace boss Pulis must be Manager of Year

Millwall boss Ian Holloway has hailed the performance of successor Tony Pulis at Crystal Palace.

Holloway who led the Selhurst Park club to the top flight last May via the play-offs.

He told the South London Press: "I helped Palace get to where they are now.

"But it is Tony who has performed miracles.

"I knew he could do it, which is why I suggested him. Well done to him and to them. I am delighted for them.

"All I am able to do is move on with my own job. It might be tough, but it is a wonderful job.

"Now I have left Palace, it is nothing to do with me any more.

"I don't know if Tony was chosen because of it being my suggestion. Who knows if the Palace board listened to me?

"But they have got the manager of the season. It can only be between Steve Bruce, Brendan Rodgers and Tony - and I would go for him.

"It is not my squad - in Scott Dann and Joe Ledley, he has got two brilliant players. I was told the budget was gone -but part of the job of manager is persuading the club to spend on strengthening the squad and he did that."
