Holland’s van Bronckhorst hoping he can retire on a high

Holland captain Giovanni van Bronckhorst will play his last professional match in the World Cup final on Sunday.

The 35-year old former Arsenal, Rangers and Barcelona defender will retire from all levels of football, leaving Dutch club Feyenoord, after the Oranje compete with Spain for the world championship and hopes it can be the perfect way to end his career.

“The last game in my career and it’s a World Cup final, what can you say? It could not be more beautiful,” he said.

“I hope it will be the most beautiful game of my life. For everyone, it will be the game of their life."
