Holland's Austria Vienna bow out of Champions League

Austria Vienna's hopes of progressing to the Champions League Round of 16 took a blow on Tuesday night when they failed to beat FC Porto in Portugal.

Australian midfielder James Holland and his Vienna teammates needed to record a victory over the Portuguese side in order to still be alive in Group G but unfortunately could not get the job done at Estadio do Dragao.

Despite Roman Kienast giving the visitors the lead in the 11th minute, Vienna were unable to keep a clean sheet as Jackson Martinez levelled early in the second half.

The draw placed the Austrians on two points from five outings which has them sitting at the foot of their group, three points behind third-placed Porto and four in arrears of Zenit St Petersburg who drew 1-1 with group winners Atletico Madrid.

During Vienna's Champions League run, 24-year old Holland has made eight appearances including starts in all five group stage fixtures.
