The chief executive of the Holland FA, Henk Kesler, has slammed claims former Tottenham boss Martin Jol is in frame for Marco van Basten's job as national team boss.
"And if Marco van Basten does inform us in December that he is leaving his post, we will not be making a single attempt to get Martin Jol. We do not want him under contract at the Dutch Federation.
"It really annoys us that a number of media are pushing for Martin Jol to get the job. It really is nonsense to think we would want to sign him.
"The name of Jol is no longer on a single list of candidates. We were getting so many calls and we were reading so many stories about us getting Jol as the new national coach, that we felt it was important to get in touch with a number of English media. We sent them a strong letter."
