Holger Osieck names extended Australia squad for Germany friendly

Australia coach Holger Osieck today named his squad for the upcoming international friendly match against Germany for later this month.

Osieck has selected a reduced squad of 17 players comprising of 15 who were part of the squad that finished runners-up at the recent AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011.

Striker Nikita Rukavytsya returns to the squad after last being selected for the international friendly against Slovenia, whilst goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak receives his first ever call-up following some impressive performances with his German club Borussia Dortmund.

Absolutely, such clowns they are. Let's put a 30-year-old playing in the Victorian Premier League on the pitch against Germany because he had a few good games for FC Thun in 2005.

I'm really confused! only 2 of these players werent in the Asian cup squad (Rukavytsia + Langerak) so there should be 15 players laft from the asian cup squad, but when you look at the asian cup squad, and cut everyone who is no longer in the suad, you only get 14.... Please correct me if im missing something here...
